At the end of the day, it's your baby, not theirs. Set some boundaries and speak your mind. You can do it in a respectful way.

One thing to keep in mind is thst everything we do (eg. how we parent, the foods we eat, our family traditions, etc) is influenced by our own cultural backgrounds. We often think of what we will explicitly teach, but our children are exposed to our culture just by being with us and living life the way we set it up for them.

They will only have a stronger influence on him if you allow it. You need surround him with your culture. Heck you can even teach him about Afro Latinos as they have a long history in Latin America as well so that he has a broader understanding of Latin culture and how Africans have influenced that culture as well. Mother's pass on culture and so you will just have to work twice as hard. He will see the world through the lenses you give him.

You’ll have to put in more effort since you live with his family but it can be done.
